The Sundridge Sunflower Festival offers many things to see and do for the whole family.
Most will take place on Saturday, August 15, at the festival's three main locations: Sundridge Lions Park, Main Street and the arena and fairgrounds. Each offers a lineup of events and attractions, in addition to some that will move from location to location.
Lions Park, by the lakeshore, offers a cardboard boat race, canoe races, face painting, a dunk tank, live music, face painting, free bicycle safety inspections and a barbecue hosted by the Lions Club. In Lions Hall, the Burk's Falls Arts and Craft Club will host an art show. The park also has a playground, beach, pier, boat launch and picnic tables.
Just a short distance away, on Main Street, the downtown businesses and a variety of other vendors will welcome visitors to the Main Street Market. A number of food vendors will also be on hand to satisfy whatever culinary cravings you might have, while live musicians and sidewalk chalk artists offer a feast for the eyes and ears.
The Strong Agricultural Society is celebrating 125 years this summer, and memorabilia will be on display at the fairgrounds on Saturday. Parking will also be available, with wagon rides to the other festival locations. More vendors and food can be found at the fairgrounds, along with a classic car show and historical displays at the heritage log house.
In addition to these are the moving events, including the Sundridge Bugle Band, wagon rides and our town crier.
Still more events will be added as the festival approaches, watch this site for updates.
Whether fishing, boating, swimming, golfing, dining or just enjoying the natural scenic beauty, make sunny Sundridge a part of your Northern Ontario Vacation. |
